Board-certified facial plastic surgeons Dr. J. David Kriet and Dr. Clinton Humphrey use social media communities to enhance their patients’ experience with their Kansas City plastic surgery practice at the University of Kansas. With people spending over 700 billion minutes each month on Facebook alone, the doctors say it is important for them and their team at KU Facial Plastic Surgery to provide current and potential patients with a venue to allow them to interact when considering procedures such as facelifts, eyelid surgery, or rhinoplasty in Kansas City, KS.
At the University of Kansas Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery practice, board-certified Kansas City plastic surgeons J. David Kriet, MD, FACS and Clinton D. Humphrey, MD say they believe social media plays an integral role in the overall education and comfort of patients. By creating a social network through sites such as Facebook, the doctors say they can provide patients with a satisfying and informative interaction and online experience centered on their practice for patients considering a rhinoplasty, facelift, or eyelid surgery.
With people all over the world spending over 700 billion minutes on Facebook alone, Dr. Kriet and Dr. Humphrey say they have integrated the use of social media into their practice because patient care and satisfaction can be further improved at the University of Kansas. Regardless of the plastic surgery procedure their patients are considering, the doctors say the benefits of more extensive patient interaction are hard to ignore because the testimonial-like posts provide potential patients with valuable firsthand experience.
Dr. Kriet and Dr. Humphrey say that while the initial patient consultation is instrumental in patient education and the overall surgical process, the interaction that occurs on social networks such as Facebook is fast becoming essential to their patients and practice because it helps develop patient expectations and solidify cosmetic or reconstructive surgical goals. Ultimately, Dr. Kriet and Dr. Humphrey say they strive to create a positive patient experience, and social media further increases their ability to do so.
